About the event

We developed these sessions as an alternative to our larger ones in bigger venues.  Our aim with these sessions is to provide all the activities and fun for children that would benefit from a smaller, calmer environment.  They are specifically for children aged 3 and under and/or children who may feel unsure of larger, busier places.

These sessions are exclusive to The Curious Play Café in Hanham. We choose this venue as it is a good location for these smaller stay and plays. The sessions are spread over two floors and three rooms. Please note there is not disabled access to the upstairs.

As we have limited numbers to meet the capacity demands of the cafe, we have to sell tickets for both adults and children, rather than our normal sessions where we charge for children and adults are free. To try and keep it good value we have introduced a flat rate charge of £4.00 for both children and adults attending. This is the only option for us to keep these session financially viable. All children over the age of six months count as an attendee and require a ticket.

Things to note about this session:

The pricing of these sessions is different (as above). Adults are of course welcome but we have to charge for any adults attending. This is to meet the health safety requirements of The Curious Play Café and to keep the session calmer. We can only have 30 attendees for each session.

Due to the size of the café, we ask that pushchairs are not bought inside. The café also operate this policy when they hold their sessions and as a result, there is a sheltered buggy park at the back of the café that can be accessed from an alley on the left hand side of the building.

Having two energetic boys ourselves, we fully understand that kids will be kids and will get excited playing. However, we want to keep these sessions as calm as possible for the children they are specifically aimed for. If your child has a propensity to become very excited and noisy they would be better off attending one of our regular sessions.

There is a free car park located within a two minute walk from the cafe.
